ABOUT THE COMPANY:
REC Media is a Media/Advertising firm with offices in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver, specializing in campaign management and executions in community and municipal recreational facilities nation-wide. REC Media has a client base including companies such as McDonald’s Restaurants, RBC Royal Bank, Chrysler and Re/Max Real Estate to name a few.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The successful candidate will work primarily from a home office in the GTA, and will be responsible for marketing, presenting and selling advertising and campaign execution services to clients and agencies in the Greater Toronto Area. Travel may be required from time to time, including occasional trips to the Calgary and Vancouver offices, as warranted (most trips would be one to three days in length).
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
* Identifying clients and agencies for prospective presentations.
* Making appointments for presentations and media briefings.
* Preparing sales literature and tools as required for meetings and presentations.
* Preparing and presenting proposals.
* Negotiating contracts.
* Managing existing client portfolios to maximize sales potential.
* Utilizing and maintaining accurate client/contact databases.
* Compiling and analyzing market research (where appropriate).
* Participating in and coordinating the implementation of various sales strategies and initiatives.
* Submitting call and appointment reports to management, and reporting on all relevant issues.
* Actively being involved in industry organizations and attending industry events, as warranted.
* Staying current on industry news, account developments, competitive environment and product knowledge.
Compensation will consist of a base salary plus commission and bonuses, with some expenses covered. Total compensation will be commensurate with industry experience and performance

You possess refined written, oral presentation and negotiation skills. You are able to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines, and have the ability to follow up on key tasks and assignments in a timely manner. You are entrepreneurially minded and looking to work outside the rigidity and bureaucracy of large corporations, and are interested in an opportunity to contribute to the growth of a dynamic young business.
Educational/Work Experience: Advertising sales experience is required, ideally in Outdoor/Out-Of-Home or sports marketing. Cold calling experience is an asset. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word and MS Excel) is required. Experience with a contact manager (ACT, GoldMine, Maximizer, etc.) would be an asset. Successful completion of Secondary School is a requirement, and completion of a diploma/degree program in Communications, Business/Commerce or Sales/Marketing would be preferred, but not required.
Other: Candidates must have a reliable form of transportation, and must own a personal computer and/or have a small home office with fax machine.
